The Rope Trick by Steven San Luis is premiering as part of the Anaconda Ensemble Theatre season this weekend, but that isn’t the only reason to celebrate the show!
Montana-local artist, Becky Roberts, is also premiering a new art show titled Player Piano, which will be installed in the lobby area of the show and is inspired by the production of The Rope Trick.
“It explores the concept of communication and miscommunication” says Montana-based assemblage artist Becky Roberts. “Of appearance and disappearance. The opposition of present and absent. It delves into the empty feeling of missing what is no longer there and the longing to connect.”
The installation will be present and available to guests through the entire run of The Rope Trick, from November 14th – the 16th and 21st – 22nd inThe Montana (at 200 Main St) during performances for those attending the show, but AET will be hosting a free artist reception for Becky on November 22nd from 5 to 6:30 pm. This will be a chance to chat with the artist about this show, learn more about Becky’s art as a whole and celebrate her rising to the challenge of creating a specific show based on an AET production.
The reception on November 22nd is FREE, and there will be a bar of non-alcoholic and alcoholic options available, as well as light nibbles. However, if you want to stay for the production of ‘The Rope Trick’ immediately following the artist reception, there is a performance at 7 pm, tickets can be purchased in advance at www.anacondanesembletheatre.com.
